I had to write a post about Country Life since I have been visiting over the last couple of weeks, I thought I would share in the adventure.

The pro's would have to be smelling fresh air again - Thats right, you do smell what fresh air is meant to smell like out here. It smells pretty good. Community feel would be another nice thing. People actually saying hello to you when you walk by and smiling with no cell phone to be found near them. It was a strange sighting to say the least!

Having huge backyards to play in. Yes you could get lost in some of these yards. I actually think I saw a few horses walk down them. Vehicles, you need one out here sadly, I dont see alot of electrical vehicles which would be a great benefit out here as well as car share and the extension of the skytrain. Transit is not good out here. I thought it was bad in the City, but no this is borderline "nightmare on elm street stuff", they are just nowhere to be seen. Why the skytrain connector does not come out this way is beyond reason. But you may want to plan for that very soon.

Cute shops, not alot to be seen, as I do miss my days strolling around South Granville street. There is however alot of strip malls - not my thing, but purchasing a Wedding dress for the big day at $300.00 is not a bad price to pay for the big day!

Bicycles? Have not seen many unless your speaking of the ones down on the trails by dikes and rivers but unfortunately with a highway right outside your front door, I can possibly see why they keep to the revine so to speak.

Quietness and Peacefulness - You do find this, but unfortunately much like anything these days, you need to search and have that vehicle or close friend with vehicle close by to take you there. Once there though the peace and quietness of the trail with horses on one side and wild birds on the other and dogs roaming free everywhere, you have found your sanctuary for the day.

The city will always be home to me, because the city has been my home for many many years. But as our city grows with price tickets getting higher & home rentals soaring while your favourite stores are closing shop and replaced with something you have never heard off, you do see the positive in a far away place such as the country.

But like anything in Life, it does take balance and so yes this week I sadly miss the city. Will I return, hard to say, as with anything, change is hard but change is also needed at times. Im pretty sure Im going to be venturing out again soon, not sure where my path will take me but with that said, I will miss the morning hello's and silent walking trails with horses sitting pretty for poses while eating fresh grass.

Next time "electric car" will be in tow or possibly they will have car share out here. It has happened before when I ventured off the City path and they brought a few things from the city in.

Off now to ponder about my next destination for awhile, while walking 30 minutes for dinner. Yes forgot to mention it does take 30 minutes to get to any close proximity of a restaurant without a vehicle, No five minute walk to dinner here I'm afraid, but the food and exercise does a body good......
